5. The Race (Atlanta, October) More than just a 5K / Half Marathon, The Race is an annual weekend event that supports black-owned businesses, charities, and neighborhoods hosted in Atlanta, GA.
4. Rotary Club of Peachtree City Half Marathon (Peachtree City, January) This half marathon is hosted by Jeff Galloway, US Olympian and first winner of the Peachtree Road Race in Midtown Atlanta.
3. Cartersville Half (Cartersville, May) The Hotlanta Half marathon starts at the World of Coca-Cola and winds through Piedmont Park past Georgia’s capital building.

1. Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon (Downtown, November) Dubbed the “Earn Your Turkey” race in Atlanta, this race is held on Thanksgiving morning annually. 5K distance is also offered.
Honorable Mention 1: About 1.5 hours outside of Atlanta in Chatsworth, Georgia, the Tear Drop Half (April) is a mostly downhill 5K / 10K and Half Marathon is a USATF certified course that starts at 2851 ft. elevation (for the half). Gorgeous views from the start. Steep downhill declines to 741 ft. elevation.
Honorable Mention 2: About 2 hours South of Atlanta in Columbus, Georgia, the Red Nose Half Marathon (January) is a USATF certified FREE half marathon with a finisher’s medal featuring a mostly flat course along the Chattahoochee River.
